Air Wing Deploy "Bug"
I've read a couple posts from people talking about relocating airwing troubles. I don't know if this is similar or not, as I'm having something SIMILAR with deployment of fresh air wings.

IDK if this is either a genuine bug, or some kinda "feature".

I have all DLC turned on (including the new one)
I was playing through germany in regular mode starting 1936 (just to get a feel for the way the game now plays) and all was fine until about 1940.

Let me explain why I'm not sure if it's a bug or feature. First here's why it might seem like a bug (note this doesn't happen from the start, but rather some years into play):

When I goto air menu, select an airbase, and press to deploy an air wing (be it the capital, or front line or anywhere) it takes literally WEEKS of game time to come (the percentage thing ticks over a couple percent every 24 hours). It doesn't seem to matter if I have 10 planes in reserve or 200 - the deployment is literally over weeks.

Why I think this MAY be some kinda feature - In real life there's no way to get 100 planes out the factory, and dump them all on an airfield, in the hands of complete novices, and expect them to be able to takeoff, fly, fight, and land as well as trained pilots -10% or as well as veteran pilots -20%... So one possible reason for this "feature" is it taking some basic pilot training into account. So when I click to deploy a new air wing and such and such a base using spare stockpile, there's some kinda behind the scenes training going on (kinda like basic training for fresh troops - it's not an instant thing).

Forgive me if this is an obvious part of the game now, but it wasn't obvious until I got into 1940 (ish) so I'm not sure exactly the purpose on that date (or if somehow upgrading the airframes is what broke the mechanic - can't possible say)

i'm just throwing pot shot ideas out, but there's definitely something weird going on with regards to how long it takes a new air wing to deploy once you're some years into a "proper" game.

According to the patch notes, new air wing deployment was changed to take 30 days.

That is a massive error in judgement of behalf of the development team. Their logic is critically flawed.

The 'aircraft' have already been 'built' and are simply awaiting 'delivery': presumably either by road, rail, cargo ship or direct flight (if within range) - all of which have a logically predictable delivery time based on distance and speed of the mode of transport.

There is no reasonable, logical, or rational reason why it should ever take 30 days for a pre-built aircraft to make it's way from storage in Tokyo to an airbase in Kanto, Japan (unless a trade union is somehow involved - and fascist regimes know all too well how best to deal with THAT bottleneck). Even at 10 knots, a cargo ship could easily make the 1268 nautical mile journey from Tokyo Harbour to Saipan in under a week.

This arbitrary code change is demonstrative of either laziness and/or stupidity and/or an unprofessional approach to QA and UX regression testing.

I think they already said that it wasnt meant to be so long, and that it will be shortened in future patches.

ok thanks for clearing that up - but Davius - I still beg to differ on that somewhat, as it might seem silly that aircraft take 30 days to arrive from down the road (or across the world) but if you have 100000 guns ready, you also can't instantly manifest 100000 troops (and 30 days is probably not too far away from kicking them out of basic with a vague idea of which end the bullet comes out of).
To me, the navy and aircraft training stuff seems completely broken when compared to the army side of things, in the sense you can send a sub off to battle (or plane) with ZERO crew training, and they perform 70-80-90% as well as the Training, Experienced, Veteran crews, which is obviously not true.
I guessed the 30 day delay MAY be related to this training, but turns out it's all down to the delivery mechanics and not?

Why the discrepancy vs Army?
yeah it takes a month to make new wings

but

you can just split existing wings to instantly create ready to go combat air units, skipping the deployment timer
