Ironman Mode bug (Le Resistance)

I was playing some HOI4 and wanted to unlock some achievements for red china, when I selected my country and put Ironman mode on. I realized that I couldn't get achievements because it said that I either had cheats on or modified save game/save. I had no mods or cheats on, I selected the 1936 scenario and ironman mode was working before.

I have uninstalled the game, verified integrity of the files, unsubscribed to all mods and it still doesn't work

You will have to start a new campaign. You can't turn ironman on and then load a save where the game had ironman turned off.

Just a guess, since it was mentioning you having a modified save. I don't know how it names saves. Maybe you already had a red china campaign with that name? Just tossing out idea.

Yeah, so the saves are just the prefix for the country and the date etc. So maybe you already played as Red China and need to delete or move those save game files?

I did have a few red China campaigns before this one. But the problem is that on the map where you select your country, it says that you can't play with achievements, when you're in the game, it's ironman mode, but none of the achievements show up

Still doesn't work, paradox needs to stop releasing broken DLCs

Damn. Well, that sucks. I hope they fix it for you/us. Maybe drop something on the paradox report bugs board for it to be looked into.

Maybe someone with more knowledge can still help you on this, and get you going.

Mouse over the achievements icon in game set up and it should tell you if something is disabling achievements. If you buffed/nerfed any countries or preset the ideological path to follow from their focus tree, it will disable achievements.

1) Unsubscribe all mods
2) uninstall the game via the steam games list.
3) go to C:\Users\*username*\Documents\Paradox Interactive and delete the HoI4 folder
4) go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common and delete the HoI4 folder there.
5) reinstall the game

6) Start the game up and load into the main menu once before activating any mods after doing the clean re-install.

The one in your documets folder, yes.
