Millennium Dawn: The Economy System Makes No Sense
It seems like every 2 or 3 months I get hit with this "housing prices collapse" garbage, it's ruining almost every play through I do and it seems completely random. I've played as the Soviet Union up until 2030 and only got the event a few times, now I'm Japan and I've gotten the event more times than I did in 30 years as the Soviet Union as early as 2002 without playing any differently. The economic systems of the mod are described so vaguely and it seems to be completely random, the US could be losing 100 billion a week with 5% stability and 20 trillion dollars of debt with a 14% interest rate and still have "Economic Boom". Can someone explain this? Unless there is an explanation for this besides RNG I'm not even going to bother wasting my time with this mod.

I do like that it has an economy system, as the base game only has a sort of economy which is conveyed through civilian factories, but it's this seemingly random event that just ruins it completely.

Yeah, the mod doesn't seem to want to let the economy just work... It's always crashing and crashing hard. Which makes manually increasing the economy worse than a waste of power and money.

the eco part ruined the mod

Millennium Dawn is something you play if you want to waste 10 hours of your life and have nothing happen in between those two points of time.

Mfw nearly every focus is 70 days

Millennium Dawn sounds really boring.

HOI4 is all about the build up to a global war. Is there even one in that mod?

You can fire one off pretty easily. NATO exists and will step in if you get too toxic. All the big powers are there, ready to pick a fight. Or you can go after them directly, nothing stopping you.

On the flip side, you're not forced into a world war if you don't want one, unlike vanilla.

No they ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ won't, I had to quit as the Soviet Union because I got so bored of playing in 2030 with 2% world tension unable to justify a war despite being a communist dictatorship.

If you only had 2% world tension, then you should try learning how to raise tension yourself, instead of waiting for others to do it for you. Namely, diplomatic puppets, coups, volunteer forces, and the occasional war vs anyone who defaulted on their loans.

I actually have to restrain myself in order to avoid raising Tension too much.

The economy minigame is very broken like you said. I played as Iran and from the start I took no focuses that increased debt, only picked those that reduced my expenditures. After a few years it was obvious that the mod creators don't want you to overcome it, after getting constant rng rolls on stuff that was a low percentage of occurring. When I tried to raise taxes to get my income higher than my interest rate payments, the game immediately responded by giving me events that drained my PP so I could no longer raise taxes. It's an endless loop. Economics is real, it's a problem for every nation, but there is a way to beat it. Now the mod developers need to put it in.

It's a bloated mod, tried playing as Germany, game crashed by 2002-2003... funny focuses and stuff, but you get spammed by "what the hell EU vote for what" every little while.
