In other words if your troops are in province C they get extra supply from the air drop only when they are in province C.
if your transports give 10 supply, which is 500 planes, then for 1 tile it's 10, 2 tiles 5, 4 tiles 2.5, 10 tiles 1
at that point with 10 tiles you basically could only support half an army of basic infantry, not enough to conquer china
this can be useful in niche situations with small unit numbers, but supplying the whole operation is not possible, you are limited by CP on how many planes you can use at once
also supply drop only provides "supply" and does not allow units to reinforce guns, fuel, etc
edit: you also cannot choose which units get supply
honestly if it did allow for equipment resupply, it would be a god tier asset in some situations rather than a niche novelty
it wont be some esoteric wall forever, i promise
Japan is a great country well suited for using a navy. Why would you want to skip it? You can squash china pretty easily because you have a navy. Support some naval invasions and you can make the front line larger than China can handle.
only super serious map painting!
