Why is the swastika flag not shown in the US version?

From my understanding it's really only banned in Germany and other European countries. The US version of the game doesn't display it however. But it does show Hitler's face lol

It's far easier for them to just make/maintain one version of the game that complies with the regulations in their major markets. This is especially true in the modern digital distribution era.

The German version doesn´t have the faces of Hitler, Goering and Himmler though so there are still different versions.

Plenty of similar mods in the workshop, and since it's just a flag graphic, it doesn't trip Ironman/Cheevo checks.

From my understanding they've relaxed the rule in Germany regarding the swastika, I don't think there'd be anything stopping Paradox adding it in for historical accuracy. Although I'm not sure where else it is banned.

It's so troubling to see it, but now more than ever, everyone wants to censor everything. China doesn't mind banning a game from a billion people if someone dares to put Taiwan in it. Similarly, Paradox wanted their German customers. Hiding a flag or a face doesn't change anything. I love having the elements included. We shouldn't ever be allowed to forget the symbols of our past.
