It’s also just too dated for me. Ironically HOI2 aged better
The bigger map brought a lot of gameplay issues - above all making it BORING. a 10 versus 10 division fight in AoD is exciting. A 3 vs 3 division battle in HOI 3 is so mundane that you lose interest in the tactical aspect of the game.
And don´t get me started on the HQ system, which had way too many levels and caused stuff like Zhukov leading one division.
HOI 3 aged like a mummy.
Also, the modding community was dead. There were a few mods like Black Ice but it was nothing compared with HoI II modding community. And none of these problems were ever adressed by Paradox. HoI IV, even if it was quite clunky on release, was the breath of fresh air
