Anyway to play occupied countries?

Is there anyway to play a country that is occupied by another at the beginning of the 1/1/36 scenario?
Countries that would be examples of what I'm talking about would be:
Libya
Israel
Palestine
Jordan
Egypt

I have tried releasing the nation, saving, and reloading the save however this puts me back as the UK (I am trying to play as Israel)

use the console and use tag *country tag*

Gra Gas is right, the only way is play as UK first, then relase these occupy/ puppet countries then use the consolde command.

you can release it as UK, so it IS playable

There is a mod in the workshop called Alternate History or something like that where all occupations are released. It's...crazy :L the game gets really weird at times

1. Pick UK/ITALY/FRANCE/ etc... (Who have occupied nations in controls)
2. Go ot manage occupied countries.
3. Release nation what you want.
4. Save game and go back to main menu.
5. Load your save that it throw you to campaign map view. Pick a nation what you just released. Select it, choose your settings and lauch.
6. Done

You can do all this but if you don't use mods you are doomed to fail. You have like 3 civilian factories on average if your lucky. Poor to little infrastructure and maybe just maybe one military factory. And just enough pops to maybe field a brigade. Need a mod for sure.

A big statement and a bit political don't you think for this type of forum don't you think.
And a vary stupid statement considering you literally play as murders in this game. No matter who you pick there all murderers some on a larger scale then others. Hell one of the best nations to play as the German's, British, French the soviets all did it in world war 2 and more. I would not recommend using morals in a game like this when the goal is to kill millions of your enemy's or conquer.
