Nope, that mod would be stupid, play the game as its meant to be.
Why would it be stupid? Take advantage of the resources to do your own imperilism. You realize of course there isn't much to do as a puppet except fight the UK's wars....
And Mods exist to change the game up....I dont think paradox wants to game to be played in a certain way ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY ADDED WORKSHOP SUPPORT
Got the same situation as you describe. Then I joined next alliance (Comintern) and will try to take my territory back.

Post:
... it's going to be very rare or very challenging. Britain has to take the "indian independence" focus, which requires Japan to take the "Indian national army focus" (which starts a fascist civil war in India. Unfortunately, this event requires Japan to hold Singapore, and the AI Japan is terrible at invading Singapore.
The other way is for a player Raj to start a communist or fascist civil war themselves (doesn't seem to be possible with democracies, unfortunately). This is likely to be very hard though, as it's probable that the other commonwealth nations will join on the side of the neutral Raj. India is also huge and the Raj has a comparatively small army, making the civil war annoying to win.
If you want to do it, train as many divisions as possible and position around your capital (build your intiial factories there too) then when the civil war fires immediately issue a garrison order on the whole subcontinent. Hopefully, you will have enough guys to lock everything down before the rest of the commonwealth arrives. I've not managed it myself, but I'm sure it would be possible for a skilled or lucky player.
It's rather annoying that India doesn't start with a cavalry unit design, that could make winning the civil war much easier.
e.g Annex RAJ
and it resets most diplomatic relations
there are cheats like add_autonomy, pp.
so if you use (as a puppeted country) add_autonomy (tag) (number) and pp (number, usually 300)
then press q
and unpuppet yourself!
This totally works 2019!
