Can you Combine Factions?

Playing as France, I decided to mobilize early as I could and defend the Czechs! The limey brits decided not to help me, which is super lame, and now I am no longer part of the allies. I have been made to create my own faction and now I am running solo against the axis powers.


So the question is, could I get the Brits back in good graces and join me? (currently its impossible, im curious if it could happen eventually with some game mechanics)

Also, how could I get another nation to join me like republic spain or USSR or USA? Or am I just screwed until the axis powers piss other people off enough that they declare war on them as well?

Choose a nation that has the same ideology as yours (Democratic, unless you changed it). In the Diplomacy screen, click "Improve Relations" (this has a 1-time cost of 10 PP, as well as a daily cost). Keep checking the "Create Faction" option on that country's diplomacy screen often. Also wait until either you or them are at war (or both), which will reduce their reluctance to joining a Faction by 30 points. This would work well with the USA. With the USSR you'd either have to choose a Political Advisor that changes France to Communist (You could also check the Focus tree for something that will shift ideology), or use "Boost Party Popularity" diplomatic action on the USSR to turn them Democratic.

As for getting back into the good graces of the UK, just use the "Improve Relations" diplomacy I mentioned above.

I just got the French acheivments for the game and my advice is to just hide behind your walls and extend them across all borders and wait until world tension is high enough for the UK to decide to join. So no, if you are able to withstand the horde for a while you should be able to do just fine. In my game I took over all of Germany, most of Japan and huge chunks from other contries. Level 10 forts are really difficult to get through and Germany is content with throwing troops to their death.

Ha yeah, I tried to be super aggressive France and declare war on Germany in 1938 when they attempted to annex Czech. I made it north to Essen and Dortmund so far, but I think my attack is stalling now

Only France fighting Germany. Only one ally in faction, Czechoslovakia, but they no were called to arms.

To defeat Germany I did it through events, when Rhineland is occupied. France will trigger a civil war and will get a war with Germany too. You need Britain NOT to support you. If you get Britain support restart the game.

You don't need allies. You must avoid trying to get Yugoslavia as member in faction because Italy will become a second front. In fact you don't need any member in faction because the more members the more easy to Germany to get land to conquer. Only you and Germany, and you can win.

Win the civil war, while fighting Germany. Forget Italy. Forget all the world. All troops to Germany. Push, push, push north and east. Encircle and avance, take cities and airbases, and micromanage the entire front (when needed).

You cannot merge factions but you can disband yours if you are the only country in it and then join another faction.

It's possible in theory : Members of the Allies can leave the faction to join your Entente (if they like you more and you look more powerful I suppose) and once UK is only member left, they can disband Allies and join you too.

I'm not sure how British Raj plays into this : they're a UK puppet, so they can't leave Allies on their own I think, and I'm not sure if UK is considered "sole member" when it's only them and Raj... I need to check my Entente save, I'm almost sure UK joined during the fight against USSR

Still not able to combine factions, even though there is a green checkmark next to the proposal to invite to faction. Also, i am not able to disband my faction even though I am the leader of it. Kinda lame.
