Hearts of Iron never used swastika. But for Hoi III you can download historical flags for germany. So i guess for HoI IV you will get a "mod" too.

What do you mean "can you handle it"? The game is being geo locked for germany so there is no reason to censor the regular version, in hearts of iron 3 it was not geo locked therefore it was censored for everybody.

The correct flag is the one with the swastika in a white circle on a red background, it was the infomous symbol for nazi germany it was all over their country. The one the devs are using is a mixture of the pre 1935 flag mixed with the 1935-1945 version.

The flag you think is a "real flag" was actually flag the flag of NSDAP. The real flag was an old black-white-red German Empire flag. Both were in use.

Only between 1933 and 1935. After that only the NSDAP flag was the flag they used.
Before 1933 it was actually black-red-gold but the old black-white-red was also widely used.

You are completely wrong buddy, it was a flag of the nsdap before 1935, from 1935 and onward it was the official national flag, the old black white red german empire flag is similar to the kreigmarine flag with a swastika but the german empire flag was no longer used after 1918.

I believe we will get the game with an option to turn on historical flags and such, while the german version simply would not have such option. Again there is an FAQ in PI forums about this so I recommend checking that out.

From a personal standpoint flag or no flag, it matters not to me. It really shouldn't be such a huge issue as people seem to be making, in any case you can just mod the flag in, as the QA tester Daniel has stated in the HoI 4 stream. And since HoI 4 has steam workshop integration, sharing it should be easy enough.

Steam does not censor nazi flags in the workshop there are mods on garrys mod for them and most likely other games, ive seen some on stellaris already.
