Adolf Hitler Censored?
Just wanted to know why German law felt the need to censor Hitler's face. I get that he was clearly one of the single worst humans in our history but I do think its responsible to grow up and face reality. Running from your history is an odd way of owning up to past mistakes. History should not be hidden, it should be viewed plainly by all and judged accordingly. Just a pet peeve I guess.. [World War Wednesdays is where I saw it]

Ah, so I guess they are on the German copy. Thanks for the response.

Theyre streaming the videos to Germans, so its just to be safe. They use a mod at times to use the uncensored versions already (accidentally on stream at least once), so perhaps if it peeves German users enough, they might be able to do so as well

Yeah, isn't Nazi references in games and such banned in Germany for children? I don't think it is banned for adults as well but it may very well be.

No, it's banned for everyone outside art and educational use.

Yeah... time for Germans to grow a pair. Hitler and the Nazi Party was over 70 years ago. It is part of German history. How about the fact Hitler pulled the German economy out of the toilet due to the unreasonabe reparation payments to France and Great Britain. He improved Germany's infastructure and industry. I am not saying he was the greatest statesman in the World, but you cant just dwell on the bad all the time. Cant stick your head in the sand like an ostrich.

(sarcasm) thx for this epitome of a well-thought-out history lesson (/sarcasm)

I very much doubt the Germans are offended about these issues being brought up. I couldn't imagine the British being offended about their past where they invaded 75% of the worlds landmass or the Scandanavians being offended about the Vikings or the Spanish taking offence regarding their invasions or the French taking offence over their inquisitions.

I could go on but I don't wanna embarrass those who are easily offended over things that happened. It's one thing to bring it up, it's another thing to discriminate against a nation because of their history.

All this is not relevent..... If it isn't censored, then it doesn't get sold in that nation, it is a simple as that. Paradox could just say.... "We're not going to censor Hitler", and they would just be hurting their own bottom line.

Oh yea I'm not disputing that they should uncensor for Germany. I'm just saying that most, if not all, Germans would be offended at the uncensoring. It's only when people start making ignorant comments and labelling Germans as Nazis is when it gets wrong.

If I remember correctly, in the total war games they can't buy the bloodpacks, so it's not just about Hitler, it is just how Germany thinks their censorship laws should be.

Thats something completely different. Blood leads to a higher age rating by the USK and a rating of USK 18 would mean less sales.
I am not even sure you can't buy them.
