Right time to attack the soviet union
So I am about to do barbarossa again and I want to know what are the best months to attack, my first plan was in march 21st but some delays made me attack until april 9th, in this run I also thought of may since I don't have any distractions or delays now, is may ok?

I like Doing it right after you Defeat the UK ,while you try to gain air superiority over southern england you can declare war on smaller countries and if you feel tough sweden/ norway(so your armies dont stand idle)
But USSR becomes VERY strong at around 1941 so declare war before then.

Actucally I do it historically so even though I could kill the UK, i don't do it, it is actually january 1941

good luck you need planes to defeat both and splitting your planes upon two fronts is challanging

I have done it and the soviets were really easy, the brits only have a few CAS planes, but is may ok to attack?

isn't this about the weather? Most ideally it would be just after the winter. But in all honesty I never look at the weather, and neither had I any really problems with doing so.

It was june but right now the invasion can go as early as April 9th 1941 with the support of pretty much all Europe

I waited too long, and by late 1941 Stalin declared war on me and my anti-soviet alliance through national decision. Afghanistan was quickly overrun but Turkey managed to make very minor gains in Russia. For reasons I will never understand Japan ambandoned their entire border and allowed Mongolia take most of China. I took the Russian territory bordering Finland, and the cities of Leningrad and Sevastopol. But after that the East Front turned into a WW1 style quagmire and I ended up fortifying the entire border. The Russians have already lost over 3 million men, but they haven't even moved up from limited conscription and they have a truly scary amount of divisions equiped with lots of artillery. I gave up on this particular game yesterday and learned my lesson. If you give them this much time they will have not only recovered from the Great Purge but have built up a significant airforce and a huge army.

Right now their tech(my date is april 9th 1941) is ♥♥♥♥, they have some weapons form 1939 but most of their units have like 100 of those, mine have around 400 and special units have 500, I have a lot of artillery to counter their light armor(that is the only type of armor they have) and though they are hard when barbarossa starts but I encircled the in my first attempt and they ussually lost 10 divisions, and I had captured Leningrad, Sevastopol, Kiev and Ukraine in just 3 months and I attacked in may 10th, also their focus right now is "The Great Purge", they don't have the stalin line, so the invasion will be way easier for me and I have around 350 well trained and equiped divisions ready

The absolutely easiest way to take Russia is to just justify against poland/soviet union AS SOON AS the game starts, and early deploy/recruit units to get as many divisions as you can for anschluss and the eventual war, you can EASILY steamroll russia because they always do the great purge early, which means their divisions will have -45% which for germany it should be a steamroll.

Starting the war with the allies having all of Russia/poland/Germany/austria is a HUGE advantage. Just don't rush into the war with the allies post-russia conquering otherwise you'll be stretched. It's easier to make sure your coastal defenses are completely built up and you have at least 300-500 divisions for the eventual war against allies and garrisons.

Good luck :D !

I ussually do a historical route so I just build up troops and then go to war with poland in 39 and all that stuff

Ahhh, but if you do it historically you can't win as Germany.

It may suprise you but I defeated the soviets in september 18th and I started on apirl 9th, I can obviously take on the UK and US, but anyway I delited those files as the AI while could do things, they didn't research anything to counter me in any way
