Current alternatives to HOI4

Would like to point out to alternatives to the bizzare HOI4 (which should have been 2 games, one arcade and one historical). Take a look at War in the West over on Matrix or WW2 in Europe by Schwerpunkt. Although WitW covers only the West its is a massive and historically accurate game of WW2 with massive detail. WW2 in Europe is a phenominal effort by a single gifted programmer to have the entire war in Europe (both in Western Europe and Russia) in a single game (1939-45). No production or research but massively playable. Since PDX has decided that games you play in a sandbox are more fun than reality I would check them out.
It never fails to impress upon me that PDX cannot manage to finish a game like HOI3 that was
90% complete and went ahead with HOI4 'Light' but at least there are game companies out there that can make massive and playable historical games still without sacrificing reality.

Quite true. Just a notice for those detail diehards (like me) to have an alternative
to more simplified games as HOI4 is.

Just ordered Schwerpunkt's West War 1939-45 (and includes dozens of scenarios and the biggie the 39-45 campaign game). Looking far more to that then wasting money on HOI4 but still am playing HOI3 with mod HPP 3.3 and having a blast there as well.

Like Quagmire said, everyone has different tastes, I don't feel my money was wasted on HOI4
