If you manage to do this without involving the Allies in war, then you can do the next awards.
On the other hand, if the Allies don't get involved, it is easier to just annex entire Yougoslavia, then the next two focuses will be bypassed and you can get to Second Ljubljana Award or War with Greece, but this only if you already demanded Slovenia and they refused.
If you wait too long, before or after, doing the "Demand Slovenia" focus you wont be able to do the first Lubj Award.
Because, Italy would have previously made some grumblings about wanting a part of Yugoslavia, well after she had earlier annexed Albania.
Italy has her eyes on the State of Dalmatia and all of her strategic ports on the coast, across from the Italian mainland. Italy, will always, without fail, annex Dalmatia.
There are 4 or 5 states that must be in Yugoslavian control for the 1st Lubj Award to be completed and Dalmatia, unfortunately is one of them.
When doing that whole string of conquests to end it with Greece as your puppet, you must not hesitate one bit, even after you beat out Italys quest for Yugoslavian land and annex it for yourself start the "Fate of Greece" focus right away.
You'll also need to start influencing Greece and supporting the fascist party within. (side note, do the same thing for Yugoslavia before annexing her, else, 50/50% chance she might refuse letting you taking her over). Once you do that Greece will, happily, roll over as your puppet.
Too many times I hesitated on Greece to have Italy start a war with her. Once, I was 3 days away from aquiring my Greecian puppet when Italy struck. If Italy starts a war with Greece it'll be the beginning of the end of any, futuristic, plans of European conquest. Everything, from that point on will be a futile up hill struggle in defending the homeland.
However, once you puppet Greece, before Italy strikes, you'll have a peaceful time period ahead of you to build up your ground game.
Best of luck.
