Defeating Japan as China is too easy

You simply upgrade your infantry tech, build a ton of infantry equipment and guard the coastline and it is easy for the player to defeat Japan in a few months after they declare war.

Japan really needs to be buffed, in my opinion (or China weakened). It should be at least somewhat challenging for the player to defeat Japan as China, but I have not been defeated in any of my China games, even against actual human players playing Japan.

Japan can take sumatra and other islands for rubber and oil in 1936, than just hold north front line and comeback in couple years with hordes of plains and heavy tanks to run over infantry

The AI would never do that though.

The Japanese army should have little difficulty crushing the Chinese while taking very little casualities. Historically, the only reason the Japanese did not annex the entirety of China was because of the supply issues. The NRA was not an issue for the IJA. When they wanted to take territory, they simply rolled in and seized it.

I also find it rather easy to simply swamp the Japanese with superior numbers and push them back to Korea, so holding the line and waiting for tanks and planes would not work.

Yes but playing as China, it is too easy to defeat Japan. And the Japanese AI sometimes even loses to the Chinese AI. Thus Japan needs to be buffed or China needs to be nerfed.

Dunno, I got China in my veteran game easy, but never tried mp yet, any human player sure will make my life harder

You guys are misunderstanding the purpose of this thread. I'm talking about playing as China, not Japan, and defeating Japan. It is too easy to do.

sure you can overwhelm japan by numbers because you are china what did you expect but japan has the upperhand in equimpint and navy so you can't invade

Almost any country leading by human player can beat major country in 1937-39, like poland can invade to ussr, sweden to uk, etc

It shouldn't be that easy. Historically, as I already stated, the NRA was a shambles. There was no possibility of them defeating the Japanese alone. In every game, it takes me one month to push the Japanese off the mainland. I then sit there while they make continuous attempted naval landings, until they have no manpower left, meanwhile building a fleet which can challenge theirs, then invade and finish the war.

It isn't just the AI. The AI in this game is all-round terrible. But I have never lost to a Japanese player in a multiplayer session as China. It isn't even challenging.

Historically the NRA wasn't controlled by you though.

They don't need to change China or Japan, they just need to make the AI play better.

China should at least be much weaker. They should have a penalty like the Soviets get after the purge. It is too easy to turn the NRA into a formidable army by 1938 when Japan usually invades, then push them back easily. It isn't difficult to defeat human Japanese players as well.
