Beating The Maginot Line

Hi, I am playing as Germany, and have defeated Poland & Soviets by 1939, however, when going to war with France, I cannot get past the Maginot Line. It is a massive line of forts, all at level 10. What do I need to do to break through these? I have created a few templates with heavy tanks, and tried to utilise them, but it still seems really difficult. Do you have to go through Netherlands and Belgium to get to France, or is there a way to punch through the Maginot Line? Cheers! Ewan

Yeah, you should go through belgium. But you can also try going through Italy, maybe you can get through there.

Going through them is literally suicide. There is no way to penetrate them head-on unless you destroy them. The reduction of 140% means your divsions fight at usually 1-10atk/defense in the battle, which is hilariously bad.

Don't go through, do what the Germans actually did. Have a group of some slow infantry attack through the Netherlands and let France and U.K. start moving troops there, then wonce they get a bunch there, aim straight through the Adrennes forest with fast tanks and encircle into Calais and Dunkirk. If you did it right, you just entrapped much of France's and birtain's army. Rush for PAris whille dwindling on the Allied pocket and you have France.

I got through by helping Italy push into France. After we beat them I occupied northern France, and Italy got southern France.

Key to France is Belgium.

I went through Switzerland. Because of their neutrality they aren't in a faction that can protect them. And world tension barely rises because it's so small.

Their terrain is mostly mountains though, so they were very annoying to fight.

If France happens to fightelswehre as well (non historical) or Italy is not your ally go for stratbombing. You should be able to maintain air superiority and bomb the maginot line into non - existence in 2-3 weeks. Then bugger the French with some tanks/Jaegers

Get fort buster on manstein, use the siege artillery ability, and attack with tanks. That should completely destroy all the forts
