1) Sea invasion - you select divisions you want to send, click on naval invasion button (left one usually) port of origin and province you want them to assualt from the sea. There are several factors - size of force and time needed for planning invasion depends on your techs and focuses, you need to have intel about province you attack and naval superiority above 70%+- in the naval regions between port of originand target.
2) Transporting troops to friendly port - select forces you want to ship, move them to province with port ,after they arrive, simply move them to port of destination.
Edit:
Naturally you also need to have enough convoy ships
You can expect losses if the convoys are caught mid transit by warships
You use them for trading and supply lines as well - they are great targets for submarines.
Example, Japan invading China, makes landings in the south. If you have troops in Korea, how do you send them to invaded ports through sea? I tried all the things I could think of, but they only choose to go by land, meaning through enemy territory. The only thing I could do is to send them to Japan main first, then to target ports.
1/ You can use SHIFT-Right Click to set way points for your units
2/ Naval transport is a bit fiddly : units will only use it if a) They are standing in a province with a port and b) you click on the port icon at the target province (not the province itself, just the little anchor)
So what you need to do is select your armies, make them move to the nearest harbor and Shift RIght Click on the target port icon.
If you use a battleplan , they'll take the sea by themselves to reach it, but sometimes the pathing is dubious.
