How usefull is encryption and decryption?

You get small bonus for all land combat if those of yours are higher than enemy.

Beside that I believe only effect is to see what AI does in focus tres.

It also benefits you to being able to see what and how many of (x) troops the enemy has in what places. I'd say it's highly important if you're micro-managing the army at all.

If you are big into preplanning and micro mananging your armies, GET IT! If not, its just a thing you get when you can't find anything else to research. Since it just gives a small dmg boost.

If you want a dmg boost and to be able to see the strength of units on your borders, it is necessary. You dont need it to win, though.

Dude you are pretty dense aren´t you? What kind of percentage bonus you think your "superior weapons" give?

Not to mention the 5% bonus is GLOBAL rather than specific to infantry or artillery...

hm okay? I rather research superior weapons/vehicles/doctrines so i can get breakthroughs easier, makes more sense to me that it's more beneficial.
for example, i rather have a superior panzer divisions then to have the encryption advantage for the dmg boost.
i rather use my research slots in that manner.

i think a combat bonus and the ability to see there troops numbers better ( and from what i've read also they cant see yours as easily) is worth it

I guess you should be able to see the enemy battleplans if you have a higher level than theirs
