Intallation Disk Write Error
I bought this game yesterday, and was very excited to play it with my friends, only to run into a disk write error stopping me from playing. I have kept trying to push through it, with the download now button, but it's reached it's peak at 765 MB. I've tried many other solutions, including most forums on steam, but they haven't worked. I've looked through the logs and the problem seems to be that in "wiki\images\archive\4\43\20151016083907!Australia.png", the folder labeled "43" doesn't even exist. It's the same thing with "wiki\images\e\e3\Naval_leader_rank_3.png", but the folder "e" doesn't exist. It says "(File Not Found) (Disk write failure)" every time this happens in the logs. Can anyone please help me? I would greatly appreciate any help you have to offer.

Hey guys, after endlessly trying to fix this with all the suggestions plus 25 more. I ran Norton Power eraser last night and found a registry problem that it fixed. It then installed no issues today. But I stumbled upon this as well , too late for me but might be good for some!
The last line Pertains to my windows issue specifically.

Disk Write Failure while trying to install HOI4 on Linux (and possibly other games as well)
The issue is likely that you are using an XFS file system, and/or an encrypted file system. Install the game in a Steam Library on a standard Linux file system like EXT4 and it will be fine
On Windows, run the free Malwarebytes utility to fix a registry issue that causes this.

Some things to try.

1. Verify you have enough Disk Space. Open Windows explorer and right-click on your (local C; or D: disk drive) and select properites.

2. Check your hard drive for any disk errors. Select you Disk Driver in windows explorer. right click on the drive name and select tools, error-checking.

3.Go to your Library and right click on the game name and select propertes, select Local Files Tab and select Verify Game cache.
