Performance issues
It's 1939, i've driven to the edge of Berlin and Anzio as France. Quite proud of not only myself, but my allies in the little entente. But now I can't get anything done as the framerate has crashed into the 5-10 area. I have a gtx 660, amd fx-6300 (3.50 ghz 6 core), and 16gbs ram. What in the flying rat balls is killing my machine?

Try playing the game in windowed mode at a resolution setting a step below what you presently have set for your destktop. I'd set multisample level to 0 as well. Also while in windowed mode outside of the game open task manager and find the HOI4 process, right click on the process and set the priority as high as your system will let you.

It's awful, but not atrocious.
