Not getting any templates!
very frustrating.. im going down the tank tree but im not getting any templates to recruit them... every other template is working fine, i guess i could duplicate any other template and put tanks in them but thats hell expensive on the xp, do i have to do anything special to get them??

im gonna break something.. its 1940 and i still cant create units cous the game aint giving me any templates.........................................................................

Some countries don't have a template for tanks.
They should be unlocked by the first great-war tank, the first light tank, or the first heavy tank.
How-ever if you play with a country, that already has all of the 3tech's unlocked, but was not given the template. you won't get it.
you need to create it yourself. by duplicating something, and changing them to tanks.

Hmm thanks for the info.. however this is my 3:rd playthrough as sweden and i got them the other playthroughs, this division ♥♥♥♥, not being able to create your own without duplicating and paying a ♥♥♥♥ ton of exp is some mayor ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ i really hope they gonna fix, i wanna get ready for world war 2 but i need xp to manage my divisons first... pfff

put a land army theorist in the slot on your politics.
asign your untis to a comander and let them exersice...
not the quickest way of doing it. but its a way of getting land XP prior to a war.

yeah.. sadly this is what it seems to come down to, i hope it gets fixed soon. thx

Also duplicate your smallest division and reduce it to one battalion then save it. Later in the game build new templates off of a duplicate of this one since it will cost only a little exp to remove the one battalion and add what you want. A marine or paratroop unit works great for this.

There is nothing to fix. It is working as intended. It's really not that expensive either, ignoring support battallions, it will come out to 50xp tops for a 20width unit.

sorry but if its working as intended what did i do differently to get the templates the first two games?

And 50xp is a huge amount, im playing as sweden and it takes a while to get ready, it costs 15xp to modify my other troops the way i want.
I shouldnt have to spend FIFTY just to be able to recruit one of my units at all... if THAT is intended they can eat a turd.

you have to use army xp to change templates
yup, very pricey
I changed my costs to 10-6-3 (6 support, 3 main)... was 20-10.5
have ot get a good theorist or train the heck out of your troops to get army xp

new units researched do not get new templates unless the tech says so, like Marines for USSR, gives a new template

it is in defines.lua file but make a backup first
open with notepad but make certain you unclick the dumb windows box that says 'always open with this file.

oh, and just 'save' when finished. 'save as' makes a useless .txt file

select your program (not search internet)
use Notepad (unclick "always use this file to open...")

part way down the file listing is the costs for changing templates.

There is also a mod that makes all template costs ZERO to make changes.
