Placing the frontlines
Hello

I have tried to find info about this but nobody seem to have the same problem.

I am playing as Hungary and in the northern border in one province there is a spot there i cant draw the frontline. I can draw my whole country with that thing but not in that spot...it just stays blank where enemies could crawl in to my country.

There's a war between poland and germany and between poland and me there is slovakia...i sent volunteers to poland, if that has to do with it somehow?

Its annoying since there is a spot i cant man with my divisions :C

Oh and i am not war with anyone and there is nobody in my country expect my own troops.

Frontlines should only be used if your at war and or expecting war. They won't stop allies or people you've allyed to enter your land from passing through it.

I know, but surely there shouldnt be a cap in the border where i cant place the frontline?
Just placing it in there just in case Hitler wants to kill me. :P

You can plug the hole in your frontline with 2 ways:

1. Create a general/Field Marshal and put him on "Garrison" only in the effected provinces.
2. Create a general/Field Marshal and draw ONLY a "Fallbackline" in the effected provinces. The Fallbackline is actually not really a point to retreat to but a way to freely draw a line which should be defended. And if that army only has that fall-back-line command issued then they will immediately assign to that fall-back-line and defend it!

This way they won't push into enemy territory at that point but they will surely defend it at least!

as a best practice I always setup an additional general with a few divisions and mark all states behind my frontline to be garrisoned. (worst troops I have: cavalry, weak infantry divisions, MP divisions etc.) That way if a hole in your frontline happens and enemy units would normally push through the undefended land your additional garrison general will make sure they won't push into it that easily will defend it and give you enough time to react properly!

But is it a glitch or something that i cant draw the frontline there?
I am not at war and there are no enemies coming or anything.

Been using garrison effectively on coastal defense too.
Disclaimer - I may be doing it wrong - but front lines are limited to the border of a single country, so with the west you cannot draw a single front from Holland down to France (please tell me if you can - cuz I want that info!!).
Also if you draw more than one front line (forget to clean up) the AI can get confused. Not certain, but I think sometimes some units even keep old front lines in memory even after deletion. Again that may have been my fault, I need to repeat the situation to be certain. But I have a feeling that the whole front line and combat plan isn't fully fleshed out yet. No game breaker - really loving the game so far!!!

Well you can only draw the frontline between you and 1 other country so you might have to use a 2nd army just to cover a small strip of land between you and another country.

You can use the Fallback line command instead to cover an area freely without that 1 country restriction if you just want to have generally troops stationed there so you won't get suprise-invaded!

I would say the Fallback command is even better than the Garrison command for pure defense because on the Garrison command the General will spread troops around based on Resistance which is not your goal if you are setting up a coastal defense line @ Simulacra

This is probably what the OP is experiencing. Bugs me that I need to make seperate front lines though.

Yeah I agree it is nearly infuriating even! You should be able to draw a longer frontline between multiple countries...

You may be right, although in my experience using garrison on the coast with 50+ divisions was pretty effective in stopping most allied attempts, only later in the game, especially after I withdrew a number of divisions and my mobile reserve, was the enemy able to get a beach head.

Perhaps I should have included those details - sufficient coverage and mobile counter attack groups (10-20 divisions, heavy on panzer and motorized).
