how to see the % of air superiority

If you toggle the tactical/strategic airmap you can see how many planes are assigned per air mission, then you can hover over each mission and see the efficiency.

Select an airzone : you'll see all the current planes flying missions and number of planes from each side.
There's also a small progress bar at the top : this is the % of Air Superiority.
I'm colorblind, so maybe it's just me, but I always find it hard to read and need to hover th e mouse over it to get the actual number

I don't know at what point of the game you are, but late game, it's not unheard of for the Allies to have over 5000 planes in UK, so "over a 1000" is really not that much...
If that's the case, simply outproduce them while strat bombing their factories

When you click on an air region you can see a picture top left showing the conditions of weather and time in what looks like hand drawn pictures of the landscape below.

Just beneath the picture is a bar displaying the struggle for air superiority.

I would highly advise colour blind mode, because even if your aren't seeing impaired, the color scheme of the UI is tiny and bland. Having UI elements stand out is just good polishing of the game. Coloured buttons also helped me a lot. I discovered like 3 completely new buttons ever since.

Nice necro. Make sure your airfields aren't overfilled, and yes, your "AI allies" can dump their planes whenever they want into your airfields, causing zero missions to fly out of the airfield.
