Germany has a pretty large population, so they can fight for a while, try to go around their army and not through it.
You could also build high level forts, a level 10 fort can stop an army with only 1 division.
When I invaded them I trapped like 57 divisions in the area where Lativa and Luthina were.
Trapped = No supply = eventual defeat.
Also help Japan in China, call them in against SU, they start assaulting from the west, gg.
If you have better quality equipment (expensive and well kitted divisions as well as better tech), it'll be harder for them to storm you, than you to storm their potentially double sized stacks wasting supplies. Sit on rivers and run rings around them, recon is important for knowing your territory.
If you prepared for it you should have good air support and that can help a lot as well.
No need no air support.
Just tons of light tanks to grab ground. Lame? Yeah...Works? Yeah...
Don´t have motorized, panzers, air support and paradrops behind the lines? Tough luck. Retstart in 1936 and do things right.
