Is this game worth buying?
Probably one of the most asked questions in Steam forums. So is it worth money for this game? As far I know this game has only one scenario - WW2. I know that you can start from 1939 and there is no limit when you can end it but the technology thingy ends in 1945-1950~. So is it really worth all that money? In EU4,for example, the game starts from 1444 to 1821. So it is really a big diffrence. I would like to hear your opinion about this game. Thank you.

So do you like CK4 most or do you prefer other CK games?

CK4?
Do you mean CKII, EUIV, HoI IV... or are you straight from the future?

If it is your first HoI game, you could buy the cheapest version and try. It has some fun in it.

For veterans of all HoI games i would recommend to hold on purchase. HoI3 right now is a much better game, compared to HoI4. So why buy now? wait and get it later for reduced price with full price expansion.

Paradox business model is to release skeleton features games and fill them out with expansions. If you keep buying them at release complete price tag would be around $200.

personally i like all the extra stuff from HOI3 but the combat system from HOI4 is nice
and HOI4 is alot easier to get into and simplifies a few things to keep the game keep rolling

I'd recommend it, I'm having quite some fun with it. EU4 Probably captivates for longer as the longer timeframe and more countries leads to more replayabiliy, but I do have an honest amount of time in the game, and am by no means done playing. Do keep in mind that the shorter timeframe is SLIGHTLY put off by the fact, that the game counts single hours, meaning 10 HOI4-years are as many ticks as 240 years in EU4 (though in 240 years EU4, more things will happen).

But be aware, that it still is in DIRE need of some patches, especially the AI and performance need work (a lot), and the victory-deal-system needs to be taken behind the barn and put out of it's misery.

Also some balancing issues. Less so for single countries as for strategies. For Example Defending and Encirclements are WAY to easy, I just played Sweden and fought the Soviet Union and Germany simultaniously and at the time of writing, the deathtoll is 200k v. almost 5 Million - and i'm by no means a good player. Still I managed things like win the winter war as finland (and by win i mean full-soviet-surrender) or beat Germany as Denmark - non of this should be possible, let alone by a casual player.

If you enjoy EUIV then HoI IV is probably your best bet, but you may want to wait a bit.

HoI III is more micromanagement-intensive, arguably harder to master and visually not as appealing since it's older. I'd only recommend it if you want to control every aspect of your military and don't mind a lot of stop-and-go playing during major battles.
HoI IV (once fully patched) will most likely offer a smoother and more convenient experience, but some of that hinges on the AI doing what it's supposed to do and it's not quite there yet.

Unfortunately you missed the Paradox summer sale, otherwise you could've gotten the complete HoI III collection for like 5 bucks and just given it a try in the mean time.
