Is it possible to turn Soviet Union democratic?

I'm currently playing a USSR game and I see that my democratic adviser's support points for the democracy faction slowly dropping off. Will it continue to drop off and make it impossible to hold elections and turn the USSR into a democratic country?

It is possible. You will get few events firing that will increase popularity of democratic faction. But you lose purge route if you lose Stalin ,and it means you lose 1 research slot.

Aha, I just did it. It's a little weird, though. The national focus tech tree is still communist so a bit of a... paradox. Anyway, would be pretty cool if one could disband Comintern and join the Allies to restore the old triple entente.

Well it's probaly still communist since most people won't do a soviet game trying to make them democratic or facist, most people like to keep it communist, well at least I do.

You can turn any country to any political way you want.

Best was that i watched my friend start as Finland, turn it Facist Nationalist Finland, invade eest, Latvia and Lithuania, fight off soviet russia while pushing back Allies and Axis in two fronts. :D

it is possible to mod it that way. go to common/history/coumtries/SOV and change
