How to leave a faction as faction leader

beat all major nations out side of my faction, i cant leave the faction because im am the leader of it. how can i fight my own faction members.

I believe you click your flag in the top left, and somewhere in the opened window will be a box with your faction name. There should be a button right next to it called "dismantle faction" or somethling like that.

Cant dismantle faction if there are non-puppet nations in it

See whether its possible to coup them to a different ideology i guess.

Or maybe u have to edit your save game :P

you can just kick them from your faction
go to the diplomacy menu on your faction members
click "Kick from Faction"

Well, it's not like the people who answered on time actually had the answer the late post by bobberdobber is the only one that is correct.

Well, save game editing would be correct, if the saves were like CK2 in a regonizable format instead of some compressed gibberish.

You can't leave without dismantling the faction but if you want to you first have to kick out all the other nations except you from the faction then it will allow you to leave the faction.

is this still valid without MTG dlc? I don't have that dlc and found out hard way on last game that you can't usurp a faction control without MTG dlc and I'm now on a new game and afraid to find out the hard way....
