Tips for Finland?

Im a decent player, I can conquer Sweden and Norway pretty quickly but after that im really struggling with manpower even with highest conscription law. Any tips or hints?

Finland is borked like 99% of non big 7 country. the rule of the game doom them to lack factories all game long and be short of man power to even remotely cover their border.

Only way to win is to exploit IA bad unit and battle decision to be even remotely usefull.
It's seriously no fun to play any other country than the big seven except if you go fachist... which I find boring.

I wanted to rewrite and replay history, hold the line with finland peasant during the winter war, impossible because you cant stop 150infantery division and 40tanksoviet divisions with entranched people+fort level4 with arty and anti tank of 1941 in 1939. they simply grind you out of the game.

PLay poland and hold the line until allied arrive to help me but you have so little manpower and stuff that except goign full berserk mod eyou cant lay historicaly.

Simply put what you did is the best finland can hope to achieve usually except lucky moment of IA going herp derp.

Finland has manpower problems? What? The fascist focus tree gives a lot + go for Blitzkrieg or Human Wave doctrine. You will probably lose the first war against SU anyway but later you can just kick their butts once you've used the focus tree to get Infantry Weapons 3 in 1941. Together with Germany (don't ally them, just declare war at the same time. Unless you want British landings or fight US), you can easily crush Soviet Union.

Light Tanks.

Invade Sweden first, and swoop down the coast with the fastest moving forces you can. Use small divisions, 10 wide. It's all about speed. The moment you invade Sweden start pursuing your justification against Norway. Try to time it so that you can bring your forces around to the Norwegian lowlands almost immediately before declaring war.

Meanwhile, follow up your light tanks with some mountain infantry. Again, you need to be able to train them fast and get them quickly into position, so small divisions are the way to go. Position them around the Swedish midland border on the central mountains, so they can push north-west, west, and south-west to the isolated victory points deep in the Fjords.

Through it all, hope that no one else declares war on you.

Meanwhile, rocket art. is great for defending against the USSR.

Well I haven't played with Finland, but I've played with Greece which has 400k manpower as all adults serve. In the early game, artillery is the most important thing, all you need to do is building military factories, (and gain from industrial focus) adding artillery and support artillery to your units and start producing them until the big war, (you should also focus on military technology, superior firepower is the best choice as minor nations, do not wait for %50 discount and research as many as you can) if you can achieve a naval invasion in northern Germany, Germans will have to fight in a lot of fronts, that way you can beat them. As I said, I haven't played with Finland but this will work probably.

you guys stayed out of ww2, and you guys didnt have tanks, im not sure a few infantry divisions and like 20 tanks would have made a difference

you guys stayed out of ww2, and you guys didnt have tanks, im not sure a few infantry divisions and like 20 tanks would have made a difference

We did stay neutral in the war, however we had between 10.000-20.000 volunteers fighting mainly alongside Finland against the Soviet.

By 1945 we had over 800 tanks even though we stayed out of WW2. We also had the second biggest navy in the baltic sea, after USSR. Don't forget that we had grade A artillery and anti-air due to Bofors as well. While these numbers might seem low, remember that we didn't participate in the war on either side, thus making the numbers respectable for a neutral country.

That is true, I'm pretty sure if you guys didn't volunteer Finland might've failed.

I definetly have to try this. Any other good tips against ussr? I noticed also that making AT is pretty effective holdin the ussr but after 6 months my lines totally collpsed.. Mainly because mp shortage tho i made some progress and capped some land.

Ally with Germany, like Finland did, or request volunteers (if you wish to conquer russia and have all russian land) Either way, you will have more stuff backing you up, thus, you have a better chance of defeating the USSR.
