Trade consuming all civilian factories?
When I try to trade for 8 steel, it says 'for 1 civilian factories'. However, when I click send, it says "Are you sure you want to have all your factories producing trade goods? You will not be able to construct any buildings!"

I just want to get 8 steel from the US. I was under the impression that this would require the loss of 1 civ factory for the duration of the trade deal. What am I missing?

I have 3 civilian factories btw.

Your other two factories are owned by the civilian economy at the moment and producing consumer goods. Thus you only have the one and will have to put up with a steel deficit for now.

Ah, I see. I can change my economic policy once fascists take power, dropping the 30% consumer goods requirement to 20%, hopefully freeing up a factory eventually. Thanks :)

You may have to ignore the lack of resources to allow your civilian factories to focus on building more of them first. Or pick any National Focuses that happen to add free civilian factories.

if your playing a smalll nation my advice is get a war econony since anything lower just screws you and get until the war starts get the free trade deal for all the boost then build civilian factorys and buy the ♥♥♥♥ you need so when the war comes drop ro limited trade and only lose 20% unless you NEED all your reasources then go closed economy.

To be honest you should always get War Economy no matter the country as soo nas you're allowed to. Just don't pick the last option willy nilly. It has some noticeable downsides.

do you mean war economy having down sides? cause it dosent i mean its i must if you are going to war.but if you mean a civilian economy then i agree with you IT SUCKS like it should have some benifits like civilian factorys get build 25% faster and rearesh gets a 5% boost but you get a bunch of negative to building a waring nation so at the start of the game its not completly useless.

No I was referring to "Total Mobilization". It's powerful, but you lose 3% of your manpower.

Your people are just decadent and deman a toaster every 3 households. Fascists are much more austere and can do well enough with a toaster for every 5 households. Single side toasters only b.t.w.

This is the most unlogical thing I have every seen. How can you have to produce trade good just because of you need to trade? I'm about to stop playing this game. I hate unrealistic games. I'm not a kid who likes playing with ghosts. Please help this issue.
