Logistics Management vs. Global War Game?
Unless you have 100-200 hrs. to invest in learning the game and becoming an expert in micro-management of logistics this game is likely not going to be a game worth buying (which is 95% of most of us that have a life). This is going to be one of those sale items within 2 months unless they quickly fix the tedious logistics management system.

How is this even close to being fun? Is this a War game or logistics game? In real War, Patton was not micro managing steel productions rates back in states, along with the 100 other things you have to micro manage. They got the game exactly backwards – Macro Battles (draw a few fronts – push go) with Micro Resource Management?? You are going to spend 10% of your time watching battles and actually war strategy and the rest is pure tedious micromanagement??

? Is there settings or mods to turn off all this micro logistics, such that we can assign these function to our AI supply officers, etc. and focus on being a strategy game??

I have been looking forward to this game for a year – greatly disappointed! I have played other war games where one can turn off all the micro-management and assign to AI to ensure a more strategy game focus – much more fun! I can’t find that option here?? Hope the add it later with a update…..

Given that list, I don't think you're looking in the right genre. You're going to find a lot of resource managment and such in WWII strategy games because that IS strategy given this time period. What you're looking for seems to be Operational level or Tactical wargames. In which case, I have a few suggestions you might be interested in:

Graviteam Tactics: Mius-Front
Command Ops: Battles from the Bulge
Command: Northern Inferno
The Operational Art of War series
The Wargame series [/quote]

Thank you

IIRC in the third or fourth Dev Diary, they said they would eliminate that function.

Yeah this is 'Grand strategy', it's very good if you just take general decisions and guide your country. You can tinker as much as you like but you don't really need to. It's actually very easy to play (maybe too easy for some people coming from Hoi3).

In Hoi3 there were about 6 screens that you needed to micro-manage continually, plus the armies / airforces / navies on the map. You could put them under AI control and for a long time I had like 4 screens under AI control, then I'd slowly switch them to manual control over time as I got used to it. It was probably a year into the game before I was manually controlling every screen.

Hmm... if AI controls were in HOI3, maybe they will add back into HOI4 ... if they do that then I likely will buyit .... wait and see at this point - Thanks

Have you ever played any of the other Paradox Games? This one is relatively simple. Anyway, I have to agree with you on the automatization side, I really miss the resource automatization from HoI3
