Changing key bindings

I'm a great fan of paradox games such as CK2, Stellaris etc but would it kill them to put changeable keybindings in the so called 'controls' section of the options so that you could change them without performing some sort of arcane ritual and sacrificing 10 virgins to the gods of file editing? For example my usb ports dont work. I play from a laptop and whilst yes, I am a cheap lazy bastard who should get them fixed, it would be nice to be able to zoom in with the keyboard. However the keys that are apparently bound to zoom in/out dont work (PgUp/PgDown) and the only way I've found of changing them has been to edit a .gui file which has so far proved fruitless. Anyway great game apart from that.

same problem here, i really don't get why this game has no editable key bindings

i read the zoom thing is adressed in the beta patch 1.0.1

I just want WASD to be the same as the arrows. It's a lot easier.
