Fun Axis country besides Germany/Italy/Japan

Looking for a country to go axis with that would be fun and entertaining. Started playing with Greece but it's a pretty small country and the campaign might be a little too simple for me.

Any other suggestions?

Give Romania a whirl, they don't start Axis, but they can get there easily and tend to be able to field a capable army (and they have oil, so yay)

Warning: I haven't tried them myself, so I cannot verify this in HOI4, only from previous games

Austria is one. I just started a game as them and I am attempting to revive the Austrian-Hungarian Empire.

Managed to invade Hungary, Yugoslavia and Czechslovakia with the aide of German troops.

You can do what I did, and turn the good ol' USA into a facist government. Was fun until United Kingdom and Japan both went to war with me at the same time...

I wonder if the Romanian economy is bigger than Greek's? Probably I imagine.

Greek as I recall has a pretty tiny population. I think Romania is in the 15 - 30 million range, making them respectable once they get going

Choose Poland! That's what I did. Now I own half of Russia. Good thing too, really need that manufacturing to keep the allies at bay.

Poland. I joined Axis by accident in my first ironman playthrough and am stuck with it, but I am also eating up half of Europe while silly Adolf tanks the Allies.

Yes! There are multiple routes available for this in HOI4. The easiest is of course becoming fascist and joining the Axis, if you can't beat 'em then join 'em right? Of course you could become socialist and join the Comintern or try the baltic alliance route. Of course that looks to be the more risky but is still way way better than relying on France and the UK do actually fight.
