How can i create a new division template?

Was thinking the same. I don't think you can, but that seems a bit odd. I want to design one from scratch but the best I can do is take my mountain division, duplicate it, delete everything and then start from scratch.

In the recruitment window select edit.
I'm sorry but this is turning into a rather frustrating issue, if you can't even bother to look through the various pop ups and buttons how are you even playing this game?

Duplicate and edit that's how it works, yes that is how you do it, you work with what you've got.

Don't expect to create anything from scratch, your nation learns from experience, you build on what you know.

When you research Marines and Paratroopers you get one free divison template each. Kinda bogus your stuck with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with whatever they throw into your nation though.

When you edit a division, and click duplicate, and change everything(or somethings) after you press the duplicate, it saves the template as it's own division, and will not override the original template. You will have to pay 5 army experience for every brigade in the division though, and 10 for each support battallion. It may be cheaper for you do modify an existing template rather than create a new one from scratch.

You can create new templates from scratch. When you click on the "Division Designer" button you get one of your existing templates, but if you click on the field that pertains to the template option - that is the field above the one regarding the division name - then you will see an option to start a new template. In this way you can create a division from scratch - say you want a bunch of one-battalion cavalry units for exploiting gaps, but don't have any cavalry. This method costs 5xp to create the template. Editing a duplicate would cost 20 xp plus 5xp per existing battalion that needs to be removed, as well as 10 xp to remove any support.

I realize that this is necro'd, but four years in and there is still nothing about this. I had to pause and rewind some guy's YouTube video to figure out how he was doing it.

You go to edit, then you click on what it says for example "Divisione di Fanteria" (I was playing Italy) when you click that it will give you a list of your templates and you just click "New Template"
