Head to the recruitment tab and choose to train a new unit. Pick what you want, such as infantry or marines (varies from country to country.) It'll appear in the recuit and deploy section of the menu. By clicking add unit you can set multiple divisions to be trained at the same time. You can also choose where they will be deployed when read.

The green bars indicate supplies and training.

The template lets you alter what makes up a division. You can choose to add even more troops, or support units like artillery etc. But it costs experience points to do so, which are gained in combat.

And where do I do the template changes?

How do you assign troops in training to a certain army though?

To edit division template: click on edit instead of train at the training screen. Then automaticly, all divisions of the previous type will have this edit (for example demand for attilery).

Look in logistics. Is it going to be like 400 days before you out-produce your deficit in infantry equipment? If so, you're not going to be recruiting or training anyone for a while, because you have literally nothing to give them.

If you're OK on logistics, then just play with the buttons. You'll see green bars start to move, and you'll figure it out.

I'm sort of confused by this as well. The in-game tutorial is a complete joke and barely teaches you anything. Afterwards, I felt like I still wasn't comfortable with most of the game's mechanics. They really need to design better tutorials for large games like this.

Once they are trained, select them on the map and then right click on the portrair of whichever command you want to assign them to. Keep in mind if the rest of that army is half a world away you'll need to get the divisions over to the front lines.

I saw an option to have them join an army upon recruitment in one of the developers videos can't remember which one, but there is a way to assign the army before recruitment.
If only I could find a key menu in the options. :/

What ive learned, is find someone who knows how to play it, and ask if they will help teach you. Or if you want to, get a cheat mod, like Easybuff because its really nice. The cheat mod gives you unlimited everything basically, but it does help teach you how to do pretty much everything you need to learn. Shoot i figured out carrier planes, paratroopers are the best thing ever, you cant actually choose the equipment your divisions use, so instead of having an division of light tank III's you could just create one full of Great War tanks for the lulz

Ive learned from cheat mods and i recommend you do it as well, and the good thing about most is that you can disable them if you want the challenge.
