I am not sure why the US doesn't start with Marines but the reason for th SU to start with paratroopers is their historical air landing and paratrooper programms. In a maneuver 1935 around 3700 Troops where landad via planes and gliders.
I have egg, pie, and the whip cream on my face!!!
DOH!!!
All I had to do was scroll down on that screen!!! As soon as I found that portion of that screen, I immediately went to every other screen and started scrolling every which way - didn't find anything else however.
My only defense, besides just being R******D, is that screen didn't look like there was anything to scroll down to.
I still think Germany should start with airborne capabilities, and USA definitely should start with amphibious/marine capabilities.
Hey modders please, please create a mod which gives Germany and USA those two capabilities at start.
I will have to put a couple rose pedals back on that flower now.
The german paratrooper programm just started at the end of january '36 and by mid 36 only consisted of 3 regiments. The only army at that time fielding an action ready paratrooper and air landing force was the Red Army.
Still scrambling my head why the USMC isn't represented.
