How to take control of AI nations?

I know it is possible to do this through console.

You answered your own question really.

In game you can do it through the console and out of game you can do it either by editing the save file or after loading the save and before entering the game you can click any nation and play as them instead. Not ironman compatible btw

tag "country tag"

without the ""

Ex.
tag GER will give you command of Germany

Just type tag then the country tag.

To find the countries tag type tdebug and hover your mouse over their captial.

If you want to take control of nazi germany you can type "tag GER". Some tags are USA for, well, USA, SOV for the soviet union, ♥♥♥ for japan, ENG for the uk and FRA for france. If you dont know what the tag for a country is, type "tdebug" in the console. Then when you but your mouse over a country it will give you info such as tag.
