Going on your own by creating your own factions is quite the thrill, just make sure to get allies before the Axis does as well aa Turkey being a high priority for your faction(They are a great hold for British Raj and Africa).
Remember, 10 paratroopers can take all of Britain.
With the French national focuses, you can choose to join the Allies, The Axis, the Commies, forge an entirely new faction, or to completely go alone. There's a wide range of possibilities here.
Rumor is, however, that if you play as the Soviets and let Trotsky win the civil war, there are some incredible scenarios that can play out after Stalin gets the boot, and I'm looking forward to checking them out.
Ireland was my first country and also the one I've played the most - really fun.
