Checksum Issues...

So my problem is my checksum changes even though it says its correct on launcher, I have no mods enabled and cleaned out all mods.

I have uninstalled twice and validated my game twice. Does anyone know how to fix this anomally?

90E2 is the new checksum I am stuck with.

unsubscribe all mods and uninstall and install

You might have to delete your HOI4 folder too, after you unsubscribed all mods and uninstalled the game. On Windows that folder is in Documents AFAIK. But that folder also contains your local save games and you might wanna make a backup of those before deleting the folder.

Thanks guys, I'm using a alienware alpha with steamOS. I'm trying to find the root directory so I can wipe the game files clean so far Google yields no dice.

1) Unsubscribe all mods

2) Uninstall hoi4

3a) Delete the stuff in your documents / Paradox Interactive / Hearts of Iron IV (keep your save games if you want)

3b) Check that your installation folder is gone or empty (to make sure you didn't leave any edited files behind)

4) Install hoi4

Since SteamOS is just another GNU/Linux distribution I can help you out.

The directory that you need to delete is ~/.local/share/Paradox\ Interactive/Hearts\ of\ Iron\ IV

Note that in case ~/.local/share/Paradox\ Interactive/Hearts\ of\ Iron\ IV/save\ games/ exists and is non-empty you might want to backup those save games somewhere else first.

edit: Follow bubbas' advice, but keep in mind that what he/she means with "Documents/Paradox Interactive/Hearts of Iron IV" is "~/.local/share/Paradox\ Interactive/Hearts\ of\ Iron" in your case.
