Question on Land Forts and Naval Crossings.

I could never get a clear answer as to which fort to use to defend against naval crossings, for example from Friesland to Holland, among the islands of Hawaii, or between Jutland and Sjaelland in Denmark.

Units attacking across these areas get a "naval invasion penalty", despite not naval invading.

My question is do I defend these areas with a normal Land fort, or a Coastal Fort? Does either work? Do they both work and stack defensive values?

Coastal forts for strait crossings, land forts will only take effect when being attacked from an adjacent land tile.

Can confirm.
Red lines = naval invasion = build costal forts.
That doesn't stack with normal land forts.
