WTF with the naval supremacy!!

Currently playing HOI4 and confused about naval supremacy. My naval bombers and fighter seem to up the naval supremacy yet my SHIPS don't!!! I have searched the whole web nearly to find an answer yet nothing... am i the only one with this problem? Is there a mission i need to set my ships on or something cause it says "Friendly Ships: 0" with is bullsh*t considering i have like 500 ships in THAT specific area...

I have 31% supremacy from my fighters and bombers though XD. PLEASE HELP!!!

You wording has me wondering, are your ships on a mission (such as patrol or search and destroy?) in that area? Cause I believe they need to be on a mission in that area.

This is exactly correct. The ships must be on a mission in the area. If they're not assigned a mission they're all effectively holding position together in one spot, which doesn't help to control the region at all.

In other words, what you're doing is simply for moving ships or shore bombardments, missions for all else.

Also to note: ONLY Search and Destroy or Patrol missions will go towards your Naval Supremacy stat. Ships/subs on convoy excort or convoy raiding do not add towards naval supremacy in a region.

It worked! I feel really dumb now for not realizing I had to assign them to a mission in an area xD! Thx so much!

Don't feel dumb. There is a lot to learn about this game. I'm on my tenth campaign and still have a lot to learn. Have yet to do a airborne mission. I finally getting handle on naval invasions. Build transports to highest level. Build marines to highest level. Get navel supremancy. After landing, put navy on hold to bombard enemy to help invasion. Take port to resupply. Land near port, but not on it, because that is where you enemy will be waiting to fight off invasion. With port taken move fleet to regain supremancy and transport further divisions to captured port. that is how I took Japan with the Soviet Union. Got japan!!! Now can I take England?
