How to increase overseas supply limits?
When I am operating in territory far from my home area how do I increase the amount of supply that my troops can receive so that I can maintain bigger division numbers? Also, where is the supply limit listed so that I can plan in advance of actually sending troops?

F4 will bring up the map overlay that shows supply consumption and need. If you are invading make sure that you capture the PORT that should be your primary target. Seize the port and you can brig in supplies. Land somewhere where ou have no port and you will find yourself dead very soon.

Once you capture the port branch out a bit push f you can and capture some territory but make sure you go into the constructionmenu and click the anchor 'port' ad build all the ports you can up to lvl 10. This will increase supply limits. Also improve infrastructure

1. Make sure the port can handle the supplies needed.

Ports have a set amount of supplies they can handle for each level.

2. Make sure the infrastructure can handle the supply load.

Improving a port does no good if the infrastructure can not hold it. Otherwise the supply basically sits on the ships.

3. Own multiple ports/supply areas in the area.

Supplies also trickle in from other supply areas, meaning if you hold multiple supply areas the "middle" one get a better rate of flow.

4. Logistics support.

These support units a VASTLY over looked. At highest levels they reduce supplies needed by 40% and fuel by 20%. Which when you add this up over say 6-12 units makes a huge different on your supply system.

Just two things to add:
Both sending and receiving port level matter - whichever is lower will bottleneck you.

Check your construction menu for damaged infrastructure. After a bunch of heavy fighting in a state, the infrastructure may be severely trashed. You usually can't just keep moving and ignore the damage you leave behind.

Just a small correction, ALL ports in the sending supply area and ALL ports in the receiving supply area count.
