Can't reinforce CAS wings
Playing as italy, i have the first wing of cas since the start composed of inter-war small airframes set to regular wing (reinforced by both outdated and current) and building basic small airframe CAS now. It let me create a new CAS air wing with the basic but it doesn't reinforce the first one. Solutions?

Did you set an equipment tag? I ran into an issue like that, because all your original aircraft (and air wings) use the default tag (the diving hawk). If you changed it when you made a new plane, it won't reinforce to the old air wings unless you change the equipment they use.

Go to production tab and look at the Create Variant window for you plane. The tag should be in the upper center, next to the plane's icon.

Now open your air wing menu and click on the icon of the wing in question. The tag in in the lower window. The air wing will only reinforce with planes of the same type and tag.

I don't know if there is an easier way to manage the tags, but in my experience it is a potentially useful tool with an absolutely terrible interface.

If they have different missions available then one cannot be in a wing with he other. I.e. one can naval strike as well as do CAS and port strike, whereas the other can only do CAS and port strike, will not work together.

The weaponry has to match EXACTLY. (eg. you cna not reinforce CAS-bomb wit CAS-anti tank cannon in same slot)

The last 2 replies are almost surely the reason, the last design can perform air sup and interception while the old model cant (i will probably update the old model and see). The tag are the same, anyway good to know.
thanks

They will update between weapons of the same class (not sure about having different missions). Just checked to be sure, and had an air wing replace basic CAS with bomb bays with improved CAS with AT cannon. The problem might be that the first weapon is not the same class.

The first weapon in the design determines what type of plane it is. So if you have a plane with an AA cannon first and an AT cannon second, it will be considered a fighter, while if you swap them so the AT cannon is first and the AA second, it will be CAS.

Yeah the first weapon slot will determine class/role, and the secondaries will affect what other missions it can perform. Both of these factors will affect how a plane is deployed/reinforced. Have to be the same class/role, and have the same missions available.
