Two mutually exclusive focuses, a way to have them both?!

Okay, so I was playing as the German Reich and brought the Kaiser. Everything went according to plan.
HOWEVER, I had not noticed that the National Focuses "Rebuild the High Seas Fleet" and "Plan Z" were mututally exclusive and so, I pickled Plan Z and now I can't go down the Kaiser path.
Is there any way (cheats etc.) I can have these two otherwise mutually exclusive focuses at the same time? If not, I've just wasted two hours of my life.
Please help.

The cheat (access in non-ironman by pressing the ~ key) to disable national focus prerequisites is Focus.IgnorePrerequisites

This does not, however, allow you to take a national focus that is mutually exclusive to one that you already have toaken; you can, however, pick the focuses after the mutually exclusive one.

Be warned, you should type the cheat again as soon as you select the focus (and make sure time is paused), because the AI gets the same access once the clock hits on the next day. USSR might just have their post-purge research slot or War with UK while the USA can start its war against you immediately or bypass the Great Depression.

Next time you do oppose hitler try this:

while researching oppose hitler click on bypass for militarize the rhineland. You can go down both trees. It will likely get patched out but is kinda fun to mess with.

Honestly tho other than the raw bonuses for Victoria.... Adolf gives the better history path.

Glythe, I am wondering if this has been patched out yet? I am trying to do oppose Hitler and bypass the militarize the Rhineland trees.

A "dangerous" solution:

Go to: Progam Files (x86)\Steam\Ateam Apps\common\Hearts of Iron IV\common\national_focus\germany.txt

Copy this file to a safe folder.

Open the original file and look for this focus, beginning with:

focus = {
id = GER_rebuild_the_high_seas_fleet
icon = GFX_goal_generic_navy_cruiser
prerequisite = { focus = GER_focus_on_the_true_enemy }
mutually_exclusive = { focus = GER_plan_z focus = GER_u_boat_effort focus = GER_accept_british_naval_dominance }
available = {
is_puppet = no
}
etc,etc.....

put an # before the word mutually.

It sould be like this

# mutually_exclusive = { focus = GER_plan_z focus = GER_u_boat_effort focus = GER_accept_british_naval_dominance }

save it.

Choose the focus; after succesfully finished the focus save and delete the # - sign.

After playing the game to its end; replace that germany.txt with the copy of the original file.

For your first 1,000 hours, none of it is ever wasted. You are always learning something.
This should help you decide which path you want to take next time, not how to do both through some cheat.
