Question about CAS in By Blood Alone

I've been playing around with the new DLC and am slightly confused by one thing with the new plane designs. I get that there are three sizes of each tier of air frame, and that the main armament determines the type of aircraft.

In the production menu, I can create a small fighter and give it CAS weapons. However, there is also a separate CAS air frame. Looking at the research tree, the small fighter tree also unlocks carrier frames. So where are the CAS air frames unlocked? They don't seem to be listed on any of the other plane options in the research, tree when I hover over them.

I'm sure that I'm missing something obvious, but if anyone could point it out, that would be great.

CAS is a variation of small air frame, just toss some CAS weapons on and it should work as CAS
