HoI4 Lag Problem

Hello, I have a huge problem. My game lags, alot. Takes about 8 seconds on speed 5 for a single day in 1936, my graphics are at the very minimum and my resolution is low, too. My graphics card is pretty decent, I can play Arma 3 on 60 FPS on High Graphics (Example), but this game just lags. No mods by the way.

Could anybody please help me??? I have no idea what it could be so i'm open to any suggestions.

You sure do play a lot of a game you don't own and you obviously hate.

@OP, this game is way more CPU heavy than GPU. If your CPU is lacking, that will have a much bigger impact than a low spec GPU.

Also, speed 5 is as fast as your computer can handle, and almost everyone is laggy on speed 5 (although 8 seconds is a bit slow, too). Not sure if you can take slowing down to speed 4, but that would help the lagginess.

Other helpful tips I've seen is to set the priority of HOI4 to the highest for your CPU. Turn off the Steam overlay when playing the game. Full screen is usually better than (borderless) windowed, as well.

Now, before 1.5 my game was running just fine, i'm not sure what the problem is, but i'll try turning some stuff off, i'll see if that helps it. Thank you!

Oh, well, the problem is that my Processor is bad. My graphics card is good, but my proccesor just sucks. Well, time to buy a new one

Mines runs okay even with the update thank goodness hope you get it sorted

There was an issue with music and war sounds in 1.5 at one point. I think disabling the sound helped some people. Sorry I don't have more ideas. :(

Okay, update, I tried putting the resolution to 1920x180 and it's fine now lmao

its not on your end were the lag is coming from my guy, the main reason hoi4 lags so much is not due to hardware limitations but due to the limitations of the cluzwitz engine itself, said engine only runs on one core, which means that all the data that the game has to register is only going through one path which causes the game to lag, a lot. So basically there's not a lot you can do except install some stability mods, there are some modifications that you could make such as limiting ai and player divisions to 50, since most of the lag is coming from in game actions by the ai, you should also try turning on video sync.

also this applies to most paradox games made after 2015 such as (eu4 ck3 defiantly ck2 and hoi4.)
