Air Superiority and Interception

Whats the difference? It seems like they both do the same things.

yes and no. Air superiority blows up enemy bombers but it doesn't stop the bombing mission so if you have ground combat running they still get bombed

Air Superiority focuses on outright dominance of the skies, e.g. Your fighters destroying the enemies fighters. Interception focuses on your fighters intercepting and destroying enemy bombers and what not so they don't bomb you into dust.

interception attempts to stop enemy bombers from bombing you
air superiority provides cover for land units during their attacks

But air superiority secondly attacks enemy bombers so wouldn't enough of them be more effective?
