USA Presidential Election Question
Is FDR being reelected (in this case, specifically in 1936) ideal? I chose to elect Landon as a Republican President just because it's different, but now I'm seeing I'm locked out of the entire "Aid Britain" tree in the Events and Decisions panel while I don't see any real benefit to choosing Landon.

It seems like an overall huge disadvantage (at least if you plan to join the Allies) to not reelect FDR.

So, what is the advantage to choosing Landon? There's the ideological drift defense, but no AI is trying to alter my ideology.

If i remember correctly, you will get industrial company for free when you select him but yeah most of the time i choose FDR over Alf London. Not because your issue also in game there is no portrait for him, just another generic portrait.

FDR more stability and infrastruction. ALF london I think gets more productivity and you don't lose war support because of diiferent ideological parties such as commies or facist trading with you. Not really a problem with USA if you get embargo early which doesn't do a full embargo. The depression ends around 1941 either way. As US you will want to get war support as soon as possible to join the allies.

Oh, I see. I guess that makes some sense, since PP is low with US.

I had no idea what Alf Landon looked like. You're right. The portrait in game looks more like Jerry Stiller. Which would be fine as long as we get a national spirit of Festivus.

Thanks for the info, guys.

Yeah, its takes alot of PP to get war support. The earliest I got to join allies wast Jan 1939. I got one advisor.
