How to win Soviet Civil War as the Right opposition?

I can't seem to not get ♥♥♥♥ on. All the areas have no industry and getting high support before stalin strikes first seems nearly impossible

Yeah i just kind of wish someone would walk me throuhg it stpe by step... i just wannt to try and play with their bonuses but i can't formulate a strategy to beat the civil war to begin with...

Ah sorry. But the basics with every civil war are the same.
Get support from army, claim areas and keep paranoia low and when you have 50% army support start the civil war.

And in war... Keep you troopt near railway lines and supply depots and kill the enemy connection to the supply depot by cutting the railway lines!

How do you manage to build up 50% army support fast? I could only muster around 38% by the end of 1937 ?

Hannibal, please only give answers to things you have a clue about. The right opposition is virtually impossible to do the civil war, just assassinate Stalin, it is pretty much the only option. And then you will have no ministers or generals, and possibly through bad luck, no head of state.

I haven't tried the assassination entirely because it seems to be random chance and that might feel like a whole lot of wasted time if i just fail the assassination

That sounds about right. Even though if you infiltrate the NKVD and sway the NKVD head, you have an 80% chance of success, I've actually had it fail three games in a row.

if it does, then you're screwed. It's already hard enough to win the civil war as the Right Opposition if you're preparing for it.

If you take the focus to get foreign support, you can try to get Germany to sponsor an uprising in Ukraine when the civil war begins, but it seems buggy and didn't work consistently for me.

I've only ever had the assassination fail once in about a dozen tries, that includes not even boosting it up from 50/50.

Because of the vagaries of processor clocks that is what will happen from person to person.

Today won it with barely any support (like 30% maybe?). I started the war prematurely because I didn't let Stalin kill Rykov which is essential to continue middle path of national focus (supreme soviet)

Here are some tips:
a) infiltrate NKVD asap - you get 2-3x 5 divisions before civil war starts
b) What you do with leftists doesn't matter - I decided to kill them off after all, to remove trotskyie plot faster
c) organize uprisings
d) capital in UFA - gets you MUCH CLOSER to Moscow and all key locations
e) split country in two - during preparation make sure you cover the lands from south to north
f) try to deprive soviets of supply depots - they will just stand like idiots most of the time when they have 0 supply (maybe this will get tweaked in the future)
g) dont cover 2 frontlines - just cover small part of western frontline untill you get tons of deserters - make aggresive push towards moscow
h) desertersdesertersdesertersdesertersdesertersdesertersdeserters - the more you get, the easier it gets over time.

Min-maxing political power on decisions is extremely crucial due to paranoia. For me keeping Rykov alive made me think I already lost - and I won without breaking a sweat.
