Different versions of the game

I wanted to play with a friend in Hearts of Iron 4 but I had a different version, how to fix it?

Update the game, are you using the game from different stores? (Ex Microsoft Gamepass / Steam?) If so, that doesn't work with HOI.

I use Steam, and I don't know how to update the game. Also forgot to mention that my friend also has a Steam version.

The game is auto-updated on Steam. You could have mods installed, which changes the game version. If you're using mods, that change the way the game is played all players need to have the same mods.

But I don't use mods. I only have two supplements, "No Step Back" and "Together to Victory."

You should go off the Checksum, the current Checksum is 7844. So based on what you sent, nothing matches the current Checksum, which means you're game is out of date, or your using mods.

The version of the game is "1.11.2" not 5722 or 7488, I assume what you are saying is "version" is actually the Checksum.
