Superr slow late game
not sure if its just my pc or game alone but late game at any speed is one in game hour every 5-10 seconds, which is extremely slow, a reload of the save fixes it, until a minute later it does it again. no mods. anyone else experiencing this? before the dlc i never had problems

same, started around 1943. probably too many units moving around and fighting... but now it's worse cause of trains and more tank designs...

Had same occuring in like 1946.. it was one game of 4 I played withe xpansion so far but that savce was permanently lost.

I do not think it is "regular" performance drop due numebr of calcualtions, but imho soemthing corrupts instantly - liek fro me the game speed was not gradualy coming down but more like from 90% to 1% - and exactly as you write, work fine for brief moment after game load, but than it is there again - almost like game pause.

It does feel like something just breaks, i hope that is the case, cause that should be an easy fix for pdx. It kinda feels like the game is like overloading with everything going on though, which if thats the case in ‘43 thats a big issue

Bump this thread for sweet ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ justice. Same issue with me as well, exactly at Jan 1st, 1943. No idea why it's just slowing down to a CRAWL...

Super slow as Germany after 1943. This update changed a lot of things, broke a lot of things and I seriously doubt it made anything better. Amazing that they actually paid developers to produce this garbage of a half product and even more amazing that I paid money to have my favorite game trashed.

Update to my prior post. Literally tried to just launch the f.u.c.k.i.n.g game a second ago, and it won't even launch properly. Wth happened with this patch???

My game runs at 20fps on any speed at any date after the patch, the only time i get back up to 60fps is when the game is paused.

The game was running silky and smooth as hell by the time WWII busted out, no problem. Even battled on separate fronts. But for some obscure unknown reason at exactly 1943, it just slowed down to trash. And I don't mean VIA FPS necessarily. In the sense of 5x speed feels and looks like 1x speed. As if to indicate that your CPU is having an aneurysm or something.

Same thing happened to me, but it only started once Germany annexed the Soviets in 1942, then speed went from 5x to super slow and same speed no matter the setting.

((UPDATE: FIX FOUND)) Bump this so others can see this fix. Follow me step by step.

#1: Launch the game through Steam. The PDX Launcher should pop up by default. At this step, DO NOT LAUNCH THE GAME. Look at the bottom left to see if the PDX Launcher is spinning, indicating it's downloading an update. (Why it's not done through steam automatically is beyond me...) It'll tell you once it's done downloading, and will ask you restart the game. Do that. It'll bring up the launcher again.

#2: Once again, don't launch the game. Top left, click on "Game Settings". Under the graphics category, look for the "Renderer" area. By default, the game runs DirectX11, but for some retarded reason, it may have reverted back to DirectX9. Select DX11.

#3: Make sure you're set to Fullscreen as well, and then just launch the game. This will fix your ability to just get back into the main screen of the game.

#4: Your visuals may seem a bit wompy, so just Alt-Tab once out, and back into the game, and you're resolution scale should fix itself. You can then launch back into your save game.

((NOTE)): This does fix the laggy slow issue getting back into your game, however it's not a "perfect" fix, as it does seem a bit slow still. Otherwise, it's "playable" in this sense, and does fix the slowing to a crawl issue.

Spread the Word!!!

Unfortunately this only helped for 3 or 4 in game days and then it slowed down again.

Same for me

♥♥♥♥, sorry to hear that man. On my end thankfully, it's kept going and I'm playing at the moment. You may have to also Validate your game files, and or reinstall the game. I did those as well, but wasn't sure if it had any impact on my troubleshooting.

performance is just poor. I feel like paradox expects everyone to have $500 CPUs, maybe they should try playing their games on a median system to see what most of their players experience. All clausewitz games are like this where they add excessive systems and performance suffers so they take a bunch of time to 'fix' it by simplifying some other elements of the game.
